Stjernberg Laser has developed a laser welding system called LRW 5000, which is able to join non-metallic materials. The system uses a welding process with very local heating, no flash, no dust and no smoke. Automated plastic laser welding equipment can achieve very high throughput, while requiring virtually no daily consumables, and equipment maintenance is fairly simple. Therefore, plastic laser welding technology is increasingly favored by the manufacturing industry especially in the microelectronics processing industry.
